Staying With The Tides
Experimental portrait of art movement KONT
Commissioned by KONT magazine, documentary, 20 min, 2020-2021
Staying With The Tide is an experimental portrait of the Eindhoven based art movement KONT. Audio recordings of interviews form the basis of this film. When I come across something in my daily life that I associate with what has been said, I film it with my phone.
KONT brought together hundreds of artists and non-artists since 2017, mainly in and around 'Smart-City' Eindhoven. This through its own annual magazine and intimate actions and events. KONT won the culture award in Eindhoven in 2018. The film features museum director Charles Esche, artists, an anthropologist, a mathematician and a designer.
